Ranking Member Lofgren Celebrates Initial 30M for California ARCHES Hydrogen Hub
(SAN JOSE, CA) – Yesterday, the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) announced an initial 30M award for the Alliance for Renewable Clean Hydrogen Energy Systems (ARCHES). The ARCHES Hydrogen Hub in California is one of seven hydrogen hubs established by the Biden Administration’s Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs Program and made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The purpose of this program is to form a clean hydrogen network that will decarbonize various industries including trucking, shipping, and manufacturing.
“I am very pleased that the Department of Energy has provided this first award for ARCHES, California’s new Hydrogen Hub,” said Ranking Member Lofgren (D-CA). “ARCHES will be supporting the development and commercialization of technologies that are essential to addressing the climate crisis as quickly as possible, including critical work to decarbonize public transportation, heavy duty trucking, and port operations. As Ranking Member of the House Science Committee and Chair of the California Democratic Congressional Delegation, I look forward to closely following the progress of ARCHES as well as the other hydrogen hubs being established across the nation in the months and years to come.”
